For years this station served San Diego drivers as V&T Smog. The business has changed hands, and with new management came a new name: Ready Set Smog. The location, the licence and the work are continuous — what's different is who runs it and how the experience is being rebuilt around one idea: get you in, test the vehicle properly, and be honest about the result.

If you came here before under the old name, nothing about your visit gets harder. If you're new, you're arriving at a shop that intends to do one thing well.

Test-only, on purpose

Plenty of stations inspect and repair. That model works, but it puts the person judging your vehicle and the person selling the fix in the same building. We chose the other side of that line. We inspect and report. Whatever a vehicle needs afterwards, you take it wherever you like.
